Make a flower with pleated trim and a headband with elastic ribbon

These headbands and flowers were super easy to make. All of the supplies you need to make them are available at The Piece by Piece. I did a little cost break down and you could two or three, depending on size, for less than $2 each. What a great hand made gift for such a great price and very little time to create.

If you make this project leave your link in the comments, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Here's a how to video and some pictures to inspire:

And here's how they look when worn:

I'm a winner!...

Of the beautiful Paper Hearts Collection by Crate Paper, that is.

Crate Paper sponsored the give away on their Facebook page and a friend and I were the lucky winners.  It was easy to enter and easy to win.

A big thank you to Crate Paper and American Crafts (who now owns Crate Paper) for adding to my collection of one of my favorite paper manufacturers.

I really can't wait to play with this oh so yummy paper.

Unity Friends with Flair Blog Hop

This is my first time playing along with Unity Stamp Company's Friends with Flair blog hop.  It's a great way to foster community and win some prizes - now that's a win-win :-).

I had a few objects when I made this card:
  1. Leverage a card layout I found in the April 2011 Cards magazine
  2. Use my new Unity stamps from the wonderful sale they had a few weeks ago
  3. Use the old, but newly acquired Annalee paper from Prima
  4. Create a card that would put a smile on the face of a friend who has not been feeling well
  5. Have fun!
Having said that, I'm really pleased with the way this came out.

Authentique December Challenge

I love the monthly sketch challenges posted by Authentiqe Paper.  The sketches are a great starting point for designing and the paper is always a treat to work with.

Here's the sketch, what I created and list of supplies used:

This month I chose to use my newly acquired (from Scrapbook Island in San Jose, CA) Free Bird, Series One, Delight paper.  The beautiful stickpins are from a wonderful Etsy shop by the name of Scrap Happy Supplies.  The ribbon is Hug Snug Seam Binding from Zipper Stop that I hand died with Antique Linen Distress Ink from Ranger.  The sentiment is from Savvy Stamps and stamped with Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Charcoal.  The punched and die cut shapes include the Stampin' Up Decorative Label Punch (in pink) and Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents designed by Samantha Walker (in cream).

Scrapbook Island Design Team Project - Amy Tangerine!

I was pleasantly surprised to find my December DT pizza box chock full of the Amy Tangerine line by American Crafts and some other coordinating embellishments.

A few ideas for altering the Amy Tangerine Mini Book  came to mind immediately and more ideas came as I started playing with the paper.    I found the graphic images in the paper line to be fun and playful and diverse.  And the color saturation is just to die for.  In the end, I really enjoyed playing with the paper line and love the end result.

Two thumbs up for the Amy Tangerine paper line.

Check out what I got and what I made in this video (P.S. skip ahead to 8:25 if you want to see the completed project and skip seeing what was in my pizza box):
