It's Winner Time!

It's time to choose a winner for my week long Growing in Unity extravaganza!   But first, a big thank you to all of my blog visitors this week.  I so appreciated your comments and visits.

I used Random.org to generate two random numbers, the first number was to choose 1 of the 5 posting dates and that number was 5, so the winning comment is coming from the Day 5 post.  I then generated a number between 1-9 because there were 9 comments on that day.  The winning commenter is number 3 who is Denise Bryant who said:

Day 5: Beyond The Card {Growing in Unity}

Welcome to GIU Day 5 on my blog, the last day of Unity Stamp Company fun! (see my Day 1 post for the background on GIU) I've enjoyed reading your comments so don't stop now.  This post is your last day to leave a comment so that you may be entered in Unity Stamp giveaway. And, if you missed days 1-4, go back a few days and leave comments to increase your chance to win.

On my last GIU day, I will continue going beyond the card and beyond paper with my lovely Unity stamps.  On this home decor project I used the Insightful Meadows Unity stamp set by Donna Downey.  I simply stamped it on the fabric and used a some embroidery stitches to complete the project.

I really appreciate your blog visits and comments this week - thank so much.  Now that we've met I hope you will stay in touch.  You can subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel to keep up with my creative journey.

Thanks to Unity Stamps for sponsoring the GIU program and the blog prize!  I'll post the Unity stamp winner here on my blog this Saturday.

Enjoy the weekend!

    Day 4: Beyond The Card {Growing in Unity}

    Welcome to GIU Day 4 on my blog! (see my Day 1 post for the background on GIU) I've enjoyed reading your comments so keep them coming for a chance to win stamps from Unity Stamp Company!

    I started off this week going beyond card making with my Unity stamps.  Today, I'm also going beyond paper by stamping on fabric to create a lavender sachet that can be hanged on a door knob, wall or on a hanger in your closet.  Just a few easy steps and you can make one too:
    1. Cut two pieces of fabric to your desired size - any size that suites you
    2. Cut a piece of ribbon to your desired length, if you want to hang your sachet
    3. Use your awesome Unity stamp to stamp the top piece of fabric
    4. Sandwich the ribbon between the two pieces of fabric and pin in place
    5. Sew the two pieces of fabric together on three sides using a top-stitch, add lavender thru the open edge and then sew that last side to close all four sides of the sachet.  This is a great opportunity to use the decorative stitches on your sewing machine.  If you don't sew, you can also use fabrice glue or a hot glue gun to connect the two pieces of fabric.  Adding ribbon or lace around the edge could take the place of a decorative stitch as well.  Your sachet is now complete and would make a wonderful gift or something special for you to
    I used the Dream Big Itty Bitty stamp from Unity, cotton fabric and gross grain ribbon.

    Leave a comment on any or all of my blog post this week to be entered  into a random drawing for your choice of two Itty Bitty stamps from Unity Stamps!

    3. A bookmark that woudl be used with the book that would go so well with this gift set

    Day 2: Beyond The Card {Growing in Unity}

    For today's Growing in Unity (GIU) (see my Day 1 post for the background on GIU) project I used two different sets of Unity stamps and scrapbooking paper to alter a plain white gift bag.  I LOVE  this sentiment and it makes this gift bag usable for many occasions.  Altering (and up-cycling) gift and paper bags is a great way to use all that scrapbooking paper you've been collecting.  Add some wonderful Unity stamps and you have a gift wrapping anyone would love to receive.

    Supply List
    Gift Bag:  You can up-cycle any store bag or purchase plain bags at Michael's.
    Paper:  The patterned paper was first printed as part of the first American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection.  But I recently found it at Michael's under the Recollections brand.  Also used Bazzil & Hambly cardstock.
    Dies:  Spellbinders cirlce & scallop dies for the gift tag

    Don't forget to leave a comment today and everyday this week for a chance to win two Unity Itty Bitty stamps of your choice - a gift from Unity Stamp Co.

    Day 1: Beyond The Card {Growing in Unity}

    Growing in Unity is a program sponsored by Unity Stamp Company.  Each week Unity selects a blogger to feature on the Unity blog.  The selected blogger blogs using Unity products for a week and visitors to the blog leave comments for an opportunity to win Unity stamps.

    This week, I'm the lucky blogger to be selected for Growing in Unity and you are the lucky visitors who have an opportunity to win Unity stamps by leaving a comment on each post I make this week.  So here's what I have for you today...

    I love using my Unity stamps to make cards, but for Growing in Unity, I wanted to go beyond the card and use my Unity stamps for anything but a card.  I have a few things in mind for the week, but for today, I'm sharing these up-cycled containers.

    These beauties started as tin, glass and plastic containers from my kitchen and craft supplies.  I thought they would be great for housing, pens, paintbrushes and twine that I have wrapped around long bobbins.  So, to go with some of my favorite stamps, I took out some of my favorite papers, fabric, ribbon and lace to create these containers.

    You can find a list of supplies under the photos.

    Unity Stamps - Friends with Flare Friday

    I love Unity Stamps just about as much as I love their weekly  Friends with Flare Blog Hop.  It inspires me to get out the stamps I love and use them!  This week I used this Life stamp for the first time and paired it with paper from Authentique.  Love the way it came out and can't wait to use that stamp again.
